as a parent myself, i see outings as an important part of growing up. They provide experiences of the real world and help kids to broaden their outlook beyond the home, school and their local neighborhood, and to develop an interest in the world where they live.
they also provide an opportunity to get many kids out of the house and away from the computer, game consoles, television, other electronic devices and social media where they often spend too much time.
also, from my own observations and experiences, if outings are perceived by kids as boring , they can lose interest in exploring and understanding their world and their society, and can end up with a negative outlook on life. So i ve always tried to make my own family outings as interesting as possible for my kids (now teenagers).
